In a much closer battle than the opening heat, Baptie finished just 2.410 seconds ahead of Alasdair Coates, who took his second runner-up spot of the day. Shonny Paterson showcased impressive pace to climb onto the final podium spot, finishing ahead of Ewan Anderson and Craig Houston. Despite a strong start, Andrew Kinmond was the race's only retirement, exiting the action on lap six.
